The music staff of the Cathedral brings extraordinary live music to your home every Tuesday at 6 pm. This Tuesday, Associate Director of Music Raymond Nagem performs How Many Profound Ideas: Organ Music by Women in honor of the anniversary passage of the 19th Amendment.

Dr. Nagem writes:
"'How Many Profound Ideas" is a quotation from a letter by Robert Schumann writing about Clara Schumann. The complete sentence is, 'I am often disturbed to think how many profound ideas are lost because she cannot work them out.' It's a double-edged line today which honors the music represented but also laments how much great music was never composed due to sexism."
