The Rt. Rev. Clifton Daniel III, Dean, invites the Cathedral community to join a virtual conversation to share updates on the Cathedral’s most urgent priorities this summer. The Dean will be joined by Tara Geer, Founder and Executive Director of Action Potluck/ Sanctuary Neighborhoods, NYC, a coalition of grassroots activists who stand with our immigrant neighbors. The Sanctuary Neighborhood model starts with an immigrant family, either newly arrived or one that has been living in the neighborhood and is at risk of being deported. Partnering with a house of worship that offers a living space for the family, Sanctuary Neighborhoods NYC works as a support team to help them get on their feet. In light of current events in Haiti and Afghanistan, we are excited to hear from Tara, how this wonderful initiative came together, their ongoing partnership with the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, and how the pandemic is impacting our immigrant neighbors and their volunteers.
