The Magic of Winter: The Romanian Madrigal Choir Jubilee Tour.

Since its foundation in 1963 by the legendary musician and conductor Marin Constantin (1925-2011), the Madrigal Choir has given hundreds of concerts applauded all over the world, establishing itself as a true country brand. It is one of the world standards of choral chamber music and the keeper of a unique concept, defined by its specific sound, stereophonic stage setting and imposing costumes.

The Choir's repertoire is focused on the European Renaissance, Gregorian and Byzantine scores, traditional carols, and the compositions of classical or contemporary Romanian and universal creation. Even the name of the ensemble explains its vocation for medieval creation, the madrigal being a short vocal, polyphonic, lyrical character, specific to the 16th century.

In 2023, the National Chamber Choir "Madrigal - Marin Constantin" celebrates 60 years of uninterrupted activity and announced the "Madrigal 60" anniversary program, which includes a wide range of projects dedicated to celebrating a huge legacy: six decades of excellence in music, cultural diplomacy and confidence in changing Romania through music and culture. The Magic of Winter: The Romanian Madrigal Choir Jubilee Tour in the U.S.” is part of this anniversary program.
