All pets and people are welcome to this beloved annual tradition honoring St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the environment and ecology. The day begins with a worship service at 10:30am, featuring the Procession of the Animals, music by Artist in Residence Paul Winter, and dance by Forces of Nature.
The service will also be livestreamed for those wishing to join us from home. The video will be available on this page and on the Cathedral's YouTube channel.
Following the service will be the Fair and Pet Blessings, held rain or shine. If you have not yet registered to vote, there will be a voter registration table hosted by the Congregation of St. Saviour available at the fair.
Passes for these event are not required.
Everyone is welcome to participate.
This beloved tradition wouldn't be possible without the annual support of our donors. The Very Reverend Patrick Malloy has recently shared that "our Saint Francis Day celebration opens our eyes to the wonder of the world around us. It fills us with awe and love, gratitude and generosity. True gratitude always leads to generosity. We do not merely marvel at our animal companions, great and small, we also commit to healing the planet that sustains them. That is our generous response."
As your gratitude moves you to generosity, would you consider making a gift to underwrite our Saint Francis Day observance? Click here to make your gift today. Thank you for all the ways you support and bring life to our community.
